Black Halo Studios is a tattoo and piercing studio in Jersey City, NJ and Waterford, Ireland. We work slowly, talk plainly and only take on pieces we can do well.

Every piece starts with a conversation. We ask what the tattoo or piercing is for, where it sits, how it should age — and we'll tell you honestly if an idea won't work at the size or placement you have in mind.
The room is quiet, well-lit and unhurried. Nobody is rushed through a chair, and nobody leaves without knowing exactly how to look after their work.

Why We Opened
Black Halo Studios was born out of a shared frustration with the sterile, intimidating, and gatekept environments that historically defined much of the body modification industry. Our founders—a collective of experienced tattoo artists and piercers—wanted to build something different. We envisioned a space where technical precision met genuine human connection; a shop that stripped away the ego and intimidation often found in traditional studios and replaced it with an atmosphere of absolute safety, inclusion, and elite artistry.
What We Set Out to Do
From day one, our mission has been simple yet uncompromising: to elevate the craft of body art while prioritizing the health, comfort, and autonomy of every client who walks through our doors.
We set out to create a studio anchored on three core pillars:
Uncompromising Hygiene & Safety: We operate far beyond baseline regulatory requirements, utilizing state-of-the-art sterilization processes, single-use disposables, and implant-grade metals to ensure a flawless safety record.
Tailored Artistry: We reject the "flash-off-the-wall" assembly line approach. Whether it’s a delicate fine-line botanical piece, a bold custom sleeve, or an intricate, anatomically optimized piercing curation, every piece we create is custom-tailored to the individual.
An Inclusive Sanctuary: We built a space where all bodies, identities, and artistic visions are respected, celebrated, and protected.
